On an internship here you’ll quickly understand the immense differences between how midwifery is practised in developing countries and back at home. You’ll observe, and assist — if you’re skilled and proactive — with everything from birthing complications to cases involving HIV-positive mothers. This experience affords great insight into how local professionals work with such limited resources. Outside of the clinical experience, the country’s capital Phnom Penh, and Cambodia more broadly speaking, boast an abundance of adventure — think tropical islands off the coast, buzzing city nightlife, jungle trekking to see sun bears and leopards, ancient temples, and more.
