Share your story and win back your registration fee!
Have you recently completed - or are you currently undertaking - a placement with Work the World?
This is your chance to reflect on your experience, share your story, and win a full refund of your registration fee. Each month, one student will be selected to receive 100% of their registration fee back.
Whether it was a life-changing moment on placement, a cultural experience that opened your eyes, or a fun memory with fellow students, we want to see it.
How to enter
- Create a short video (max 60 seconds) highlighting your experience.
- Make sure it's filmed in portrait style, which is perfect for TikTok or Instagram Reels.
- Submit your video using the form below.
One winner will be chosen to receive a 100% refund of their registration fee. We'll choose one winner each month between April and December 2026.
Submission guidelines
- You can submit up to three original videos.
- Videos should be under 60 seconds, in portrait format, and free of watermarks.
- We love seeing Work the World branded clothing in your clips!
- Avoid copyrighted music and get consent from anyone featured.
- You should refer to our ethical content creation guide when creating your video(s).

Here are some suggested video themes to spark your imagination:
- “It’s the First Day of My Placement, and I’m Feeling…” followed by “It’s the Last Day of My Placement, and I’m Feeling…” - Reflect on your personal growth and journey.
- “A Day in the Life on My Elective/Placement” - Show your daily routine.
- “What the Chefs Prepare in the Work the World House” - Celebrate the delicious meals cooked by our in-house chefs.
- “3 Things I Did Outside of My Elective/Placement” - Cultural activities, weekend trips, or memorable local moments.
- “What to Expect During an Overseas Placement in [Your Destination]" - Tips, insights, and a peek at what future students can expect.
- “3 Reasons I Chose to Do My Overseas Placement with Work the World” - Share what made you choose us.
These are just examples! Feel free to come up with your own theme - the more unique, the better.

Erin, a medical student from the University of Leicester recently completed her placement with us in Vietnam. “I wanted to take the opportunity to travel while also completing my placement. I also thought I'd gain more varied experience by travelling overseas for placement. I had never left Europe before this trip, so it was daunting but also so exciting! I hoped to experience a brand new culture, and Vietnam did not disappoint.” “It definitely gave me an appreciation for cultural and attitudinal differences, both socially and in medicine. But it also showed me how many similarities there were back home, too!” “The Work the World house was fun to live in! There were loads of opportunities for socialising. From cooking classes to barbecue nights with karaoke, dancing, and phenomenal food, to nights out at local bars. People were usually up for travelling together on the weekends, so even if you came as a solo traveller, you were not alone.” “Doing it was an amazing experience.
