Two physiotherapy students have each won a free overseas placement.

Charlotte Davies and Leah Dawson were picked from more than 1,000 applicants to win the CSP competition, which was held in conjunction with us.

The winners will take up their placements this summer and can choose to spend a month in Ghana, Tanzania, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Argentina or Peru. The prize covers fees, accommodation, food and air fares. The placement will be organised by Work the World.

Both are first year students, Ms Davies at Brunel University, Middlesex, and Ms Dawson at the University of Central Lancashire.

Charlotte told Frontline: ‘I was really keen on the idea of overseas work so I entered with high hopes. I want to say a massive thank you to the CSP and Work the World for this great opportunity.’

Leah told us "When I entered the competition I didn't really consider winning it so it came as a shock to me when I got the news. It was quite daunting that I was now going to experience a country I'd never been to before on my own and would have towork in a hospital there. I'm now really excited about it though and can't wait to get there.I think working in Tanzania is going to be completely different from anything here in the UK, so I looking forward to seeing how they do thinks and can hopefully learn from them. One of the reasons I chose to go to Arusha was tosee how different physiotherapy can be. I'm also really looking forward to exploring the country and will hopefully have some great experience to take back with me".

We wish both girls the very best placement - we are confident that wherever they go, it will be a life-changing experience for them both.
