Argentina team
Natalia Vanina Lanza - Program Manager
Natalia joined us in 2010 to help develop the South American program. Her background in international relations as well as bilingual translation was enormously helpful, and her enthusiasm for her home-town of Mendoza really shows through in the program.
Nat loves reading, travel and languages, and has journeyed extensively through South America and Europe. She is fluent in English, German and Portuguese.
Martin Pusiol - Assistant Program Manager
Martin was born in Mendoza and has a degree from the university in Political Science and Public Administration. Before he joined Work the World he worked as an NGO on an educational program for disadvantaged children in the city. In his spare time he likes to travel, and has been overseas many times. He also likes to play the drums, attend rock concerts and watch European football.
Martin is involved in airport pick-ups, local orientations and leads the Intensive Spanish Course afternoon activities.
Cristian Funes - Housekeeper
Cristian was born in Mendoza, but spent seven years living and working in Orlando, Florida, before returning home in 2007. He joined us in 2012 and is in charge of cleaning and maintaining the house.
Christian is an avid music fan and is the first to get tickets for the latest rock, blues or jazz gigs in Mendoza. If you are keen to see something, ask his advice! He is also a keen sportsman and loved the atmosphere in the house during the last World Cup.
Alejandra Gomez - Caterer
Alejandra is the latest member to the team, joining us in September 2012. She was born in Mendoza city, but her family actually comes from a small town further South of the province.
After studying to become a chef, Ale decided she wanted to carry on her studies. She's currently learning how to become a film director! She also likes to travel and play the piano.
Ale loves to sing and dance and will have you dancing in the kitchen with her as you practice your Spanish and taste some of her delicious treats!
Inés María Garcia Day - Spanish Teacher
Ines is from Mendoza and enjoys spending her time sharing Argentina's culture with others, particularly the intricacies of it's language and cultural traditions.
Inés has studied English since the age of three and has taught in a number of language schools in Mendoza. In her spare time she enjoys reading, playing polo and is currently studying German.
On arrival our lovely Programme Manager Natalia, met us at the airport and took us to the house. The house was great; a very secure and safe 3 story house which was kept very clean. My favourite part of the house was the terrace on the top, where we had amazing Asado’s (Argentinean BBQ’s). Jessi, the cook, always made such amazing food and I can honestly say I still miss some of her cooking!
